Arrive & let go
Rothensande is part of the municipality of Waabs.
Surrounded and nestling between fields, grassland and forests, secluded lays the Gutshof estate. The closest villages are Eckernförde and Kappeln, which are always worth a visit.
The Rothensande estate is on the Baltic coast and the nearest beach is about 4km away on the Baltic Sea. Along the Baltic Sea coast stretch beautiful beaches to go for a walk during winter or to swim and sunbath during summer. Many beautiful bike paths are ready to be explored along both the Baltic Sea coast and the Schlee fiord.
The area provides an ideal scenario for water sports such as sailing, canoeing, windsurfing or kayaking among others.
On the Rothensande Estate:
Rothensande was formerly one of the 6 farm estates of Gut Ludwigsburg. In 1822 the farms were separated from the estate and Rothensande became an independent farm.
Until 1992, the farm, stretching over 200 hectares of land, was active in cattle and horse breeding.
The land and estate were sold separately.
The „alte Schmiede“ and „Melkerhaus“ were built over time and they are still named after their original function and inhabitants.
Furthermore, the manor house with a small guest apartment are still on the estate alongside a cowshed and the riding hall with the old horse stable.
